We are all different in our needs when it comes to friends. Do you have lots of friends or just a few?

Do you tend to keep friends for years and years or do you continue to meet new people and over time drift away from those who were friends a year ago?

Audrey...most of my friends are online. Sad to say...I don't get out often (or at all) with any offline friends. I have a couple, but they live way off from me. I hear from them occasionally.

My life really consists of what I do online...and the friends I've made along the way. I know I should get out more! lol

We had a potluck gathering on New Years Day with several friends who I've known since high school. We also do an annual Christmas train ride. We don't really see one another often in the year, but we do make time to get together with our families at least 3 or 4 times a year. It's always an amazement how the kids grow so quickly.

I have a lot of online friends. I do however have a few people off line that I have been friends with for 20-30 years. They are my closest friends, I see them on a regular basis. I also have people that I hangout with regularly that I consider more of an Acquaintance then a friend although they have been there for me at times.

HI,

The internet will and is the new way of meeting new people. Youtube that made it really popular is now exploding. Online video is a new way of Introducing yourself to the world.

You know what might be a good Idea, is to have a forum that is either text messages and video.

Oh man, that might work. Making new friends online maybe safer too. I'll start one for sure.

Over the years most of my friends and I seem to have drifted apart. I do however still keep in contact with a couple of my closest friends from school. We have gone through alot of things including not getting along and or speaking for over 2 years, but we always seem to end up back together.
I agree, the internet is helping many re-connect with long lost friends!

I have a few close friends and we have known each other for years. At different point in my life I have had lots at a time, but then things change; they get divorced or move, change jobs... My biggest change was when I met my husband and got married. Most of my friends don't talk to me anymore because "I grew up." (True Story) They didn't like that I started to focus on my future with family and money...needless to say those few true friends are still around and better than anything I could ask for!

I can relate.

I started to focus on my future( family and Financial) and it almost seemed like I was a stranger. I don't know if it was me that changed or they have changed. I guess now I know who my friend really are. True friends always there to support
