Dear All:
I just wanted to share with you. I put in my two week notice at my full time job yesterday. I am going to start doing bookkeeping from home. Thanks to this forum I met a wonderful lady who has too many clients and needs an assistant bookkeeper. I am also going to be doing audits for insurance companies on a part-time basis and have been hired by another company for a few hours a week. I started this business at the end of September and in less than two months I have so much work I can no longer afford to work at my full time job. I am excited and afraid because I won't have a steady income comming in. But it is worth the risk. I am also taking my daughter (she's 7) out of childcare and will be able to spend much more time with her. This is my dream as she has been in daycare since she was 2 month old. I want to thank everyone on the forum for their encouragement so that am can take the risk to fullfill my dream. If anyone needs a bookkeeper I am available.

Danielle,
I am SO happy for you! It sounds like everything is falling into place for you, and that is really when you know something is meant to be.
I am delighted your daughter will have you all to her self and you sure will save some money on daycare!
Please stick around the forums and let us know how it's going for you.
Best wishes and congratulations!

Congrats!!! I'm slowly but surely trying to get to the point that I can quit my job and go into business for myself, and it's always encouraging to hear from others who have accomplished it!

Hi there,
I am new to the forum and I love it so far! What a great idea for sharing everything from soup to nuts. I recently quit my full time job after 12 years of high pressure fundraising and volunteer management for a non-profit. I am so happy to be working out of my home. My kids are teenagers and they need me now as much as they did when they were young - perhaps even more!! I am very happy with the internet marketing company I chose after failing at two attempts in the MLM arena...I finally ended up asking myself two questions when I was approached about an opportunity: Can I do what this person is doing? Do I want to? Then, like magic, I could sift through the opportunities and know what I was looking for! I knew I did not want to sell, coerce or convince anyone of anything after 12 years of doing just that! VIOLA - here I am!:kewl:
Warm regards,
Ceci

How did you go about getting bookkeeping jobs at home. I have a few, but am looking more towards the virtual side of bookkeeping. Thank you for any input.

Hello all, I love all the success stories here on this forum.
I'm a stay at home dad who has been doing well for the past 6 months. When I started making money online and started seeing results, I went in my boss's office and told her where to stick it.
Needless to say she was shocked because I'm soft spoken, but when it came to me leaving I had no problem telling it like it is.
Good luck to all who dare to make it on their own.
