I've just started a new home candle business and I'm having problems deciding where to advertise and what types of advertising I should use?
Should I use text ads, newletter ads, buttons, banners? It's all so confusing!

Hi Yvette,

There are so many free and paid advertising options it's hard to decide what to do. First of all, create a signature for yourself on the forum here and on any other forums (provided they allow it) that you're a member of. Signatures in emails are also a good way of getting your business out there.

Forum marketing is one of the best ways to advertise because you're letting people get to know you and at the same time you get to know them without "shoving" your business in their face.

Other ways to promote your business is article writing because of the resource box or about the author box you're allowed to include at the end of your article. Blogging is another option.

Different ways to promote online is all trial and error. You have to test drive it to find what works for you. I think text ads are more effective than banners...I think we're immuned to banners because we see them so much, but again it's all trial and error.
