Well here is my first post for my first goal! Yeah!
I am taking a business mastery class and this past weeks lesson was in what are business barriers. Procrastination being #1. So I am getting off my butt and getting it done!
These are my goals for the first 10 days in November.
Write 2 articles a day for my own content.
Get my 2 domains set up in wordpress. Find someone to help me get a template together so they look cohesive.
Get my ebook for this month ready to launch by the 5th.
Make 3 batches of soap for the holiday season
Make a gift basket for an upcoming wedding for a co-worker/friend on the 10th.
I think this is a great idea! I now have it marked to check this every morning first thing. Looking forward to goals and motivation!

Hey Judi,
Those are some pretty good goals there. :) I wish I could write 2 articles in one day. :p
I love your blog. I was reading a bit there...will read more when I have a little bit more time.
I'm looking forward to your posts Judi! :D

I freelance for a couple of places and "can" do 10 articles a day. But I never get time to do my own business and sites :( so that is why I have 2 a day as my goal :)
I have 3 sites and WP themes going up, though they won't be blogs, but more content sites that is why I need the articles.
They are soapofcourse.com marketwhatyoumake.com and wahmofcourse.com I really need to get this project up and going.

What a great list of goals there Judi! How long does it take you to make 3 batches of soap?
Hi Judi!
Thanks for becoming a goal buddy! It's so inspiring to see other women working so hard to take their business to the next level.
I totally understand how it is to work so hard for clients that you can't invest the energy in your own business.
Good luck with the goals and I look forward to getting to know you!

WOW! I am starting to like this Goal Buddy thing already!
It takes a day to make a batch of soap (for me I am slow), but it takes a few weeks to cure. So it is one of those goals I need to get to.
Lori, you are so right about doing the client thing. On the positive end I have tons of research, just none in my topics :) But it is lots of fun and pays the bills at the moment.
Tam, thanks for the compliment. My site is so neglected and I so want these new ones off the ground. I know it will happen. I just want it now.
Add patience to that goal list!

I'm so glad you've joined us here in this thread :) Your goals are super. Do you work over the weekend?
judilynn
11-02-2007, 11:20 AM
Do you work over the weekend?
I try not to work. The weekends are for cleaning and family things. Now occasionally my husband will take the kids off somewhere. Who can resist a quiet house with no one around to interrupt to get some quality work done. But that is a rarity.
Judi -- your blogs design is so cool! Did you design that yourself?
judilynn
11-02-2007, 11:54 AM
Thanks Lori. I didn't make it, but picked it because it was so unusual. I got it at http://cureless.net/ but noted at the moment you can't get to her WP themes.
I used to do my own graphics (many years ago), but now I am finding that I would rather outsource that. I contacted someone to do my three business blogs this morning. Going to use WP as a content manager. I am so excited :)
But my personal blog is one for me to rant, rave and go on about things so I keep that in my own little style.

What a week this has been! I have been without internet for several days. and to top that I haven't had TV to watch :(
But I have been busy writing. I have several articles on my blog about goals and motivation http://judithldavis.com/blog/?cat=17
and my new project blog is in a draft. Anyone who wants to give me some feedback on the layouts, let me know.
Think I will be studying and writing all weekend.

Oh my...without Internet and TV, I'd really be lost!
So sorry to hear you have been having problems. Hope you have your Internet back soon.
But congrats on the writing! Great posts there on your blog. :D
Again, really looking forward to seeing the sites Judi. :thumb: I just posted on your blog. I'm dressing for success next week! :)

Well I am getting nothing done today. Everyone has off today. My doorbell keeps ringing and I think all the neighborhood kids have decided today is the day to annoy Ms Judi :) We had a bit of excitement in the neighborhood over the weekend, so needless to say, I can't wait until tomorrow!!!!
So glad you are feeling more productive! I really can't wait to start my own challenge!
Between this goal buddy and the business mastery class I am taking I am really starting to "get this". I enjoy working from home, but I am starting to finally see some success :)
And with dressing for success this week I am going to really cook this week!!!
Happy Veteran's Day Everyone!!!

Well day one is very successful! I managed to knock off a lot of my todo list, as well as bake cookies and work on the laundry and cleaning chores!
Well and if you must know that shoes thing didn't hold up. Last all of five minutes and they are under my desk :)
Hope everyone is doing well on their goals this week!!!!
Audrey
11-14-2007, 08:17 AM
Judi,
It's so nice to cross things off and know they are done. Nice job :)
I find shoes hard. But Fly Lady (http://www.flylady.net) swears by them, and she's definitely one of my gurus :)
I totally agree that dressing for work helps me be more productive.
I'm also WAY better on the phone with clients if I feel pulled together.
judilynn
11-14-2007, 09:34 AM
Well I am dressed today. I am not so pulled together, but I am dressed :) and my shoes are near my feet do I get points for that?
Yesterday I did get a lot accomplished. Not sure about today, have a sick daughter. But I plan on ...
Finishing up 2 articles for my commitment
2 articles for my website (have the idea and research done)
2 articles for AC (reusing the same research)
Change my AC information to reflex new domain
Make it to the post office today
That may sound like a lot, but it is just rewriting a lot of the same information. Research once write twice is my motto.
tam2005
11-14-2007, 01:24 PM
Good to hear Judi! :D
I hope your daughter gets to feeling better. I also wanted you to know that "dressing for success" definitely works! I have all kinds of writing ideas floating around in my head and have my last article added to more directories. :)

11-15-2007, 08:44 AM
Well I got all done but one article I am committed to and the post office yesterday. In my defense I did go to the post office. The line was outside the waiting room. I didn't have time to wait and make it home by 2 so I have to go back today.
Today I am going to launch Market What You Make. I forgot one small detail. An incentive to sign up for the newsletter. I wanted an ecourse or special report. Will have to see what I can come up with today.
Have to work on getting the website out there. For me that is always the hard part.
And finish up that last article.
Then that is it for the day. 2 sick kids today :( so that is all that is going to get done.
tam2005
11-15-2007, 09:29 AM
I'd say you're doing very well considering you have 2 sick kiddos. :?
You're on a roll! :)

Not sure if this is the right place to post this ... Is there a place to post contest or sorta contest?
I got "tagged" this morning on my blog. I hate tagging people. Maybe cause I don't have a steady flow of blog readers yet, LOL.
So what I did was this, I tagged the next 5 people to do the challenge and leave a comment. The 5 people who do this will get a goodie soap box from me. I make soap and bath items.
If you want to have some great handmade soap and other goodies 7 things about you and a comment on my blog post :) http://judithldavis.com/blog/?p=144

Blog entries for Sun, Mon and Tues (have to figure out that post dating thing)

Work on outline for ebook

well I have arrived in Upstate NY. This week has been a washout as far as business and goals.
But now I need to settle down to business for the next 2 days. I have 4 articles to write for WRG. Seems I have had a real block lately too. Need to find the right words.
I want to work on my sites too. Touch up, making them more user friendly and such.
Another thing I want to find is a mentor. Do you all have mentors? Just curious. I don't know a whole lot of people who do what I want to do.

Sorry I haven't been here! I didn't plan to, but I spent 2 weeks in New York. Seems it kept snowing when I wanted to go home!
Well we are back home in the south, were everyone is in shorts and t-shirts! and only 2 working days left till Christmas! and no I don't have my Christmas shopping done yet :)
My goals for those two days is ...
Finish up 2 modules for my school work (I am behind ... again)
post an article on both my business sites
write outlines of articles I can use for series after the new year.
Though I did see a great blog post somewhere. She had listed her personal and business goals for 2008. I think I really should do that too!
Hope everyone else is doing great on their goals and excited about 2008!~

3 articles for directories
article outlines for the PLR packet I am working on for the eom

You have a lot going for you. I love your new writers site. And you have clients! Things will get better. Keep pushing forward.
judilynn
01-17-2008, 12:37 PM
I just hate not having titles to write, but according to email there will be more tonight :) yeah!
As far as venting, I think that maybe it is just karma coming back around, you know? I have to admit I am sometimes a flake.
Since the first of Jan 2 different people have offered to help me. When I contacted them and got them the info they wanted they just "poof". I even went so far as to send them a follow up email. They both acknowledged that they got it, but a week and a half later still nothing.
I guess it has shown me that we WAHMs really need to follow through and do what we say. These women offered to help in aspects of their business. Well after this I doubt I would have a paid dealing with them you know? Now I get that they were volunteering to helping me, but I was seriously considering outsources to both of them at one point.
Has just left an awful feeling about me.
But on that note, I am off to get to my writing goals for today. Monday started out so good, but on Tuesday and Wed I got a bit sidetracked LOL

Well after such a busy weekend with writing I have taken a bit off. Monday and Tuesday were veg days for me. But now it sits at Wed and I have a lot to get done in the next three days.
- focus on Market What You Make. Start putting out articles and get the newsletter to go this weekend.
- submit articles to directories.
- work on 2 new project I got. Freelance projects I will get paid for. Reading and writing.
- clear and start packing in the dining room. Less than 4 months and we are going to be out of here.
- Work on the copy of my front page of Written Word Services.

Hey Judi,
Everyone needs some time off now and then. Unfortunately...the time I had to take off was not the good kind. And it's been tough getting caught up with everything.
Sounds like you are going to be busy with moving on top of all your goals. It will all get done. :)

This week has flown by! I can't believe it is Wed!
I do have my goal list here on my notebook. I even blogged this morning about to do list! What kind of to do list WAHM are you? (http://judithldavis.com/blog/?p=196)
My goal for this week was
10 articles for WRG 4 done
5 articles for directories 1 done
3 book reviews 1 done
titles for articles for a new project
Homework for coaching I am getting 5 out of 10 questions
Two and a half days left to work on all this. Yeap I will make it! I am determined this week!

Judi,
What topics do you write about? I have tried, unsucessfully to break into the children's fiction market. How did you get started, and do you published online only, or in print also?
judilynn
02-06-2008, 09:14 PM
I write mostly about what I know, which is soap, aromatherapy and natural medicine. That is if I get to pick what I write about.
I am a ghostwriter so I write about just about anything that my clients need me to write about. I have a contract right now, where I wrote a whole series yesterday on different methods of decorating cakes. That was kinda fun.
I have found I really enjoy writing. I have always journaled. So its kind of an out growth of that. I do on the other hand have a book in the works. I have a really good friend who is publishing her works of fiction. She is having some success at it, but it is a lot of work. I haven't gotten that far. My book needs a lot of work, but someday I hope to be published in paper.

Hey Judi...
Looks like you have a full plate this week. That is a lot to get done...but knowing you, you will accomplish it! :)
What is the book about that you have (in the works)?
judilynn
02-07-2008, 08:58 AM
My book in the works is called Tranquintity. I know a made up word LOL. Its just a classic girl meets boy, boy and girl have problems, and so on. I have an expanded outline, but it needs a lot of words still. To be published it should have about 35000 to 55000 words and I am shy of that. But some day :)
I do let people read the first chapter for feedback, so if anyone is interested ... lol
tam2005
02-07-2008, 09:09 AM
Sounds really interesting Judi.
How exciting...I hope that goal becomes a reality for you some day! :D
And yes, of course I'm interested. You can email me. :p
I can read it when I have the time.
Thanks.

Thought I would pop on over hear and let you know my goals for the rest of the month. Hard to believe there is just two weeks left in April!
11 articles to write for WRG this week. Great titles too, all natural healthy eating ones!
Started a drawing on my new project, so I need to drum up some traffic for that site http://naturalfromhome.com If you are doing anything for Earth Day be sure to leave a comment!
Finish an ebook for a client.
Write 2 special reports for a client.
Sort through stuff for a yard sale on Saturday.
Clean out beach bag.
Thats it for the next two weeks I think.
What are you all doing today?
BTW HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!

Working for WRG is a bit like ghost writing. I can't tell you who the final project goes for. I can tell you this. I do have a byline coming out with them! That I can share when it is published and you can bet I will run right over here and shout it to you all!!! I am so excited about it. It is right up my holistic counseling background.
