Hey there, got a question, I'm wanting to set up a at home business or work from home, and as my little introduction said in that thread I have a ton of clerical skills, but still really unsure on where to go next. If I want to start up an at home business how do I go about it. Such as something with crafts, candles, or even typing...Can you give me some more suggestions please. Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really lost in how to get this started and where to start....I was looking at a site today called projectpayday.com, but its taking freebie adds and having people pay you for doing the surveys, I don't know something just doesn't seem right with it....not sure what is real and what is a scam....so a little nervous and trying to make sure I don't end up getting taken ya know.....Thanks for any help you can offer!! :)

I'm not Lori...but I'll admit a bit of an answer.
In a business you sell something...either a product or a service. Look at YOUR town. Think of every business in YOUR town. They all offer either a product or a service.
Online, it's the same, if you want to be in business, you'll offer a product or a service.
You can check with the BBB on many companies. http://www.dallas.bbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=90041238 This is the report on Project Payday. You are right....it's a scam.
How can you tell if something is a scam?
1. too good to be true, most likely a scam
2. a poor report on the BBB site
3. not selling a REAL product or service
Do a websearch for "project payday scam" or any company followed by the word "scam" and see what pops up.
And of course, come here and ask any time :)

Thanks, at least now I have a starting point. See I've been wanting for years to set up either an online business that I can do from home or start up a daycare. My problem is money. I haven't got the extra funds, and don't know how or where to start with funding. I don't have the best credit in the world either unfortunately. I fell sick in 2000 and have just now gotten over that hump and think I'm back where I can go forward. Everyone has always told me to sell my crafts, I make wreaths, flower arrangements, candles, etc... but I've never really thought I could make anything from it. When it comes to the daycare; I want a ran by the book, caring, secure place parents can bring their children and know without a shadow of a doubt that their child is safe and being taken care of. I have worked with children for 15 years in either the daycare field, or the school environment; and trust me there aren't many daycares that do what they are suppose to or do what they say they do. So one of my dreams has always been to set up one that is safe, secure, learning based, with a home like environment, that teaches morals, and beliefs, which are things that are lacking this day in time......okay rambling, lol, this has been a pet peeve for me for years.....thanks again, and if there are any more suggestions out there please, please let me know...

Michelle,
In home daycares are very popular. It's a wonderful way to bring in a good, solid income.
Some tips....collect money up front. Do not allow parents to not pay for days missed. It's x amount per week, period!!!
Be very clear on what you provide as far as lunch, snack etc.
Just a few thoughts...
