Sophia,

I don't do "link exchanges" but if you submit a few recipes to my site, you'll get a one way link back to your site. http://www.recipe-barn.com/submit-recipe.html

I started on an article yesterday and now I'm stuck..lol. I will have to let it sit for awhile and maybe something else will come to me. I have another blog topic almost ready to go and will be thinking of some more for this week and the next to keep it consistent with my goal of at least 2 blog posts a week.

I also started on my reciprocals...

Good going Sophia! :D

I get stuck a lot with writing. lol :p It will come to you.

Sophia,

I once read about article writing and the author suggested always having lots of pots on the fire. He had lists of possible topics. He had titles for articles. He had some first paragraphs on some of these articles.

He just continually moved forward until each article was complete, one by one.

tam2005
09-26-2007, 10:20 AM
Audrey...that's exactly how my saved article document looks. :p

That's how I've been doing it. I have several titles. Some have paragraphs...some don't. I keep working on it each day. :)

WorkAtHomeSpace
09-26-2007, 01:53 PM
Audrey,

That's what I have. I have three titles waiting for something. The article I started and got stuck on has two paragraphs..needs a couple of more to make it as an article. I may be leaving this one on the back burner for a while as I found I can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. I will be writing an article out of a blog post I did earlier.

Hey...do you guys do any kind of research before writing articles or it just comes on its own from your head???

WorkAtHomeSpace
09-26-2007, 10:47 PM
The articles I've written so far have come from personal experiences or topics I'm very familiar with so I don't do any research for those. I haven't written anything that required research...yet.

Tammy,

I completed an article today from an idea I had when I was showering last night. I'm letting it sit for a while so I can see if it needs tweaking before I go live with it. You will be able to read the article on my website before I submit it elsewhere. I'm working on my second article and it should be completed today and again I will let it stew before making it live.

:)

I haven't set any particular goals. Just playing by ear. I tend to be more productive at night... a lot of my creativeness comes at that time. Late at night, I scour for job leads and post them for the next day sets me up to have more free time in the morning to do other site updates and promoting. Finding job leads can take anywhere from 1 hour to 1.5 hours a day.

So lately I've been submitting my articles, wrote a new article, added a new blog post, added new content and checked for dead links on my website, gathering ideas for new articles and of course, promoting as always.

tam2005
10-11-2007, 01:31 PM

It must be the quiet in the night although I get a fair amount during the day. I don't know what it is, but I almost have to force myself sometimes to do certain things that should be done or is more effective during a certain time of day. (such as promoting).

Tammy, the new article is in Healthy Living (again)...the last entry.

Things are looking up this week. I wrote one article which I realized I haven't gone back to tweak it. On my list today...

I'm really excited about a little new project that I was invited to participate in. It was really an honour to be asked from this person. I was asked to be one of several contributors for a work at home blog! I posted my first blog entry last night and I'm still excited over being asked. lol.

After I come down from all the excitement, I'm off to doing some site updates, reading and visiting some other blogs.

What's WRONG?!!! :(

WorkAtHomeSpace
10-19-2007, 02:09 PM
This all started on October 14th after I found two sites in my site stats and wondered how they found my site. What I found was a copied portion of text -- my site's introduction (the homepage) on their site. When I checked the second site, it was a clone site of the first -- the only difference being the domain name. I was able to contact the owners of these site and in turn they contacted the web designer and the sites contents were either removed or the site removed. I thought that was the end of it.

Each day I would find these cloned sites, some I was able to contact the owners and some I wasn't. I was given contact email address to the people who were building these websites. I contacted the owner and the owner's son who is the web designer.

On October 16th I contacted the owner and the web designer to please remove my copied content on 4 more sites I found . I received only an autoresponder response from the owner. After 48 hours and no response from either persons, on October 18th I sent another email to both to notify them of copyright infringement and gave them 24 hours to remove/change the sites content.

I received a response from the web designer today. He apologizes and then goes to say they are temporary sites so his clients can get adsense approval. I'm livid! The nerve! He goes on to say if I find anymore to let him know and he will remove it immediately. I replied to him stating the previous email giving him 24 hours to remove it and I give him another site I found today to have removed. I also tell him to never use my content on his future temp sites. He replied, they will be done by this weekend. I replied back and demanded he remove it today before 2 PM Pacific time. (which is over 24 hours from the previous email stating for removal) He replied with "this weekend".

Yes, I'm livid. Angry. The nerve of him! After 2 PM, I'm contacting his webhosting. Argghhhhh I don't feel I'm being unreasonable with the time notice because they were notified on October 16th and they failed to respond to me.

Lori
10-19-2007, 02:18 PM
Report it to Google adsense too. It's fraudulent content and deceitful to them as well.

Trust me, I know how you feel Sophia.

It's frustrating to work so hard on something have people just rip it off.

I hope so too. I have a terrible headache. I reported the offending cloned sites to their webhosting and reported it to Adsense. I'm waiting for responses.

Thank you Lori for asking what was wrong. I feel a bit better now.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Well...the situation has not been resolved (and the content was not removed on the weekend) and I just keeping finding more and more each day. It's really hard to be motivated. My hands are tied and I can't do anything more about it...ugh it's so incredibly frustrating...

Anyhow....

My contest ends tonight and my moderator and I will be announcing a winner tomorrow morning. (how's that for some excitement?)

I will be submitting some of my other articles to some other directories, updating my blog, finding more articles for my website and adding a post to the "contributor's" blog.

:)

Any responses at all from their webhosting?

WorkAtHomeSpace
10-24-2007, 01:27 PM
Got a response from one web hosting since most of the sites use this web hosting. Hopefully something will come of it. I don't even want to know how many more are floating out there waiting for Adsense approval. Makes me ill.

Yesterday, I updated my blog and the contributor's blog and really didn't do much else except the regular daily job leads and making my way around WAH town.

:)

Sophia,

You have all of us here supporting you :)

WorkAtHomeSpace
10-25-2007, 01:13 AM
Thank you everyone for your support. I really appreciate it. Just an update...

I received an email from the web hosting company that a lot of clone sites use. Unfortunately they want me to write up a written notice (snail mail) with a list of requirements. Since I'm finding new domains every day and it has consumed a lot of my time and energy, I've decided to leave it. Eventually the cloned sites will be changed (hopefully) as I have noticed one was changed recently. As much as this sucks and how much I hate the fact of knowing why it was done really sickens me. It has also frustrated me to no end.

I can look at it in another perspective...since they copied my homepage's intro there's a link which leads to my forum...free advertising.

Now, I'm going to shut up. It's time to move on and I'm going to use my energy on more productive and positive things.

That's my goal!

:)

Audrey
10-25-2007, 07:30 AM
Sophia,

Sometimes letting go is tough...but also sometimes when we do let go, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted from us.

If you are getting free advertising out of it, I think that's AWESOME!!! And it's a wonderful perspective :)

tam2005
10-25-2007, 11:52 AM
Hey Sophia,

If there's nothing more that you can do about it...then letting go sounds like a good thing. Like you said, you are getting some free advertising out of it. :)

Hang in there...now you can get back on track with your routine. ;)
Keep pushing forward.

Sophia,

Are you able to move forward on your goals?

WorkAtHomeSpace
11-02-2007, 02:50 PM
I've decided to stop writing articles at this time and concentrate more on blogging on my own blog and on Trent's blog. I just find that article writing is more "formal" like than blogging which I find less "restrictive".

I'm always doing site updates and that is an ongoing, almost daily process so I can't really say that is a goal. lol. I'm thinking of re-writing some of my articles and submitting them to directories, just to make sure it's not viewed as duplicate content.

I'm happy to say, I have been successful at blogging at least twice a week on my own blog. Yay!

My goal for next week:
New content for Trent's blog
More articles for my site
Link checking - making sure there's no dead links on my site.

:)

tam2005
11-02-2007, 09:03 PM
Yeah for the blogging Sophia! :D

I hear ya on rewriting articles. I have to rewrite mine for directories as well.

I enjoy reading your entries.

I guess I should update my goals...lol...not very good to sticking with them since I always find something more pressing to do in the meantime.

Well, I never got around to checking for dead links or rewriting my previous articles, but I have an article I'm looking forward to writing once I try out the product...probably some time in the next week or two.

I gave my blog a facelift...looks so much better in my opinion. I posted on Trent's blog and now I have to come up with another blog post for next week. I also need to add some articles to my site and promote a bit more. (Just been really busy offline.)

That's all for now.

What I have completed...

1. An hour of exercise today
2. Checked for dead links on my site...glad I didn't put this one off any longer
3. Added job leads this morning
4. Added new articles to my site
5. Updated my blog
6. Wrote a new post for Trent's blog that won't go live till next week

What I need to complete

1. My kitchen renovations! :p  :hee: Will definitely have time this weekend since I completed my goals this week.

2. Almost ready to write my article on the product review

That's all from me for now.

:)

Exercising keeps me sane...lol

I think I found my groove and it isn't so much of setting out my goals onscreen, but I have it mentally organized in my head and everything just seems to fall in place. It's like setting a pattern and following the sequence...sometimes there's a hiccup, but I get back on track and continue my way. Seems to work for me anyways. :p

- I updated my blog
- Wrote a new article for Trent's blog and realized at the same time, I just re-wrote one of my previous articles. (again, this one won't go live until next week)
- need to work on my review article

That's all for now. Have a great weekend!

Happy 2008 to everyone!

I ended up working a bit through the holidays so I found myself this New Year off to a good start. Not much to catch up on since I was consistently adding new posts to my forum and blog and checking emails. I'm caught up in that area. :)

I'll be working on adding more articles to my site and in the process hopefully write a few, a new post on Trent's blog, a new post on my blog (I need to do some research first), I need to "hound" an advertiser for their ad copy LOL and submitting one of my newer articles to more directories.

Hey Sophia,

You and I have one thing in common here...I have to "hound" an advertiser for their ad copy as well. lol

I have to submit to more directories as well. :)

How is your kitchen coming along? Didn't you say it was about complete?

WorkAtHomeSpace

It's a work in progress like everything else. It's coming along...if it's not one thing it's something else. It's all the little things that make the kitchen complete and we're working on the little things. :)

Now onto some goals...

I will be seriously looking at some link building
I have some articles in point form that needs looking at and to be transformed into articles
I will also be working on new ad copies

WorkAtHomeSpace

It's been a while since I've updated my goals...

I've added a couple of new pages to my website:
I made a separate page of work at home companies who hires Canadians
I made a Work At Home Glossary
I added three new ebooks to my Free ebooks section

I've submitted to Link Directories and article directories.

I cleaned up my forum and added a new section called Business Roundtable to discuss business topics.

Working on an article/blog post for my guest blogger blog and working on another idea for my website..just playing around with the idea for now..not exactly sure if I will go ahead and add it.

That's all for now.

My St. Patrick's Day contest starts tomorrow, so I will be setting that up. Overall everything is going well with my website and blog so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

I still have to do some research for a few article ideas I have sitting on the back burner for months now..hopefully it will materialize.

That's all from me...
