My poor baby Elissa has been crying for 5 months (NON STOP!!) Or so it seems!! She has had acid reflux really bad, thrush, yeasty diaper rash, (all of those from the day she was born) she has had an ear infection for the last 2 1/2 months. She got hives from her last antibiotic...UGH! I guess I'd be crying non stop too!

Being a new mom is tough. Being a new mom of a colicy crying baby is even tougher and then when you are the mom of 3 with a hubby that is gone all week and the new baby wants all your attention and the other two seem to be getting slighted, it is REALLY HARD!!

Whew!! OK, I feel better! Sometimes I just need to vent!

Aww poor you Christina. :(

I remember those days...my son had some really bad ear infections when he was a baby. It's not fun.

I hope Elissa's ear infection is better and she is getting the right antibiotics now. That's a long time to have an ear infection! :?

Thanks guys for your concern. YES!! Things are much better!! I finally think we have the ear infections cleared up, the thrush is gone, the acid reflux is even better. NOW, I have been working hard these last 3 days to get her on a strict napping and sleeping schedule and practicing going to sleep w/o being nursed or rocked! Things are going quite well and she has been a much happier baby!! I think she was sleep deprived on top of all the other things!!

Gracious, you poor baby, and your baby! I'm so glad you got everything all cleared up!

You might want to keep an eye out for further problems from the antibiotics. I'm sure that's why the baby had problems with yeast/thrush, and that stuff lingers for a long time. You might already know but antibiotics kill ALL the bacteria in your body, including the good kind that you really need. You might want to give your baby a probiotic (the health food store can recommend a good one and how to give it) and maybe in the meantime you could try giving the baby some yogurt.

Just so you don't feel alone, I have an extremely demanding five-month-old (six months next week) who is very demanding and I have two other kids to take care of as well. My baby cried quite a bit too but thankfully his disposition has greatly improved. Just getting through the day is really tough sometimes with a baby. I have to keep telling myself that he's just a baby and he'll be grown up soon!
