As far as color schemes go, I'm partial to purple but that doesn't always look professional! Haha. I don't offer any services on my writing website but I still had to get rid of a lot of my silly color scheme. See what you think!

I'd like to echo what Michelle said. Your site is very clean and professional and the color scheme works well. My biggest comment is the the large graphic with the translucent section title is a little hard to read (i.e., on the portfolio page the word "portfolio" is hard to read against the background photo of the monitors.) You need a little more contrast there, perhaps by tinting the translucent band with a color.
