I was reading, The Wilson Quarterly this morning and found some interesting facts that I thought I would share with all of you ladies out there.
Women in Charge-
Women hold half of all managment, professional, and related jobs in the US and- although some of their companies are small- nearly one-quarter of all CEO positions.
1997-2002 women started and average of about 424 new ventures every day.
By 2004 6.7 million privately held businesses were majority owned by women.
Among the country's Fortune 500 companies women hold 15.6% of corporate officer positions. According to Catalyst which is a business research institute in NEw York.
They occupy 14.6% of seats on boards of directors and they run 13 of the corporations.
Some other facts I found this morning;
10.4 milliion women own businesses operated in the US. generating 1.9 trillion in sales.
Half the women in the 'ladiesthatlaunch' network are moms.
As you can see, our presence is felt. Albiet not as much as I would hope for but we are there ladies, so keep up the good work! Lets make some money, and be successful in our career as well as in our family life and show men how it's done. =)
