I just had a minor spat in a Yahoo Group because a member posted "instructions" about how to tell if your computer has the MyDoom virus, and I had a problem with the post because it instructed users on how to access dll files, and did not advise users that the best protection against a virus is up-to-date virus protection software.

Suggest that you strictly moderate "How to clean your pc of virus" posts - most people here seem computer savvy enough to know that the information is false, but not everyone is, and one click of the keyboard and you have deleted the wrong file and a freelance mom is out of business. Just a thought I had (those were scary instructions too).

I would have to agree with you. The most important way to combat viruses is to have up to date virus protection. Or, if you think you may have the virus, I highly recommend using Panda Scan

www.pandasoftware.com

They have a free scan utility that always catches something that my Norton AntiVirus misses (am seriously considering changing to Panda rather than updating my Norton this year).

Thanks for voicing an important concern.
