Ok. So, my 'man meat' and I live together. We both work from home and his computer broke a few weeks ago.
No big deal, but we have been sharing my laptop which would be fine but now, I have all his crap and files all over my desktop.
OMG I am gonna beat him!

Liz,
I think computers are very personal. We each store things differently. I too tend to keep things on my desktop instead of in folders.
Any chance you can make him a folder and then he can just store everything in that one folder?

I think you should keep a big box handy and each time you sit at your desk, just scoop everything of his into it. He should be keeping them wherever he kept them before his computer broke and maybe this way, he'll learn to put them back when he's done with them. You don't need to say anything, just leave the filled box in obvious sight. He'll either get the hint or work out of a box.

I gave him two folders on the desk top. One for work and one for everything else. I even put the stuff in the folders for him sometimes. But, he just takes it back out and puts it on the desk top.
I should tell you all that I am OCD. I can't take clutter it drives me batty.
ERGGG
We will be getting another pc soon. It's just the point. Ya know.

Aaaaaargh.... I had the same problem two weeks back. But it was me who had to share the laptop with my bro. It was so sick. Nothing like your own computer you know. But thank God, i'm back with my own lovely system. :)
