5 Steps to Success:

1. Realize the importance of a mentor- It is so important, especially just starting out to have someone who has done what you are trying to do. They assist you with listing your goals and reaching them. They can answer questions you don't have the answers to. Amongst a great many other advantages.

2. Increase visability.- You want to get your name out there. Show people your character. You need to stand out by building your brand name. Which is YOU

3. Communicate effectively- You want to speak in a way that most people will understand you. Talk the way your customers talk. Be clear and know what you are talking about. Be Bold.

4. Balance home/ work- Understand that even if you are working from your home office that each day you should set aside time to work on 'work' only. Get a business line and a house line. During 'business hours' answer your business line only. And have your family call you on your cell phone if there is an emergency. Learn how to be time efficient if you aren't already. This will free up some of your much needed time.

5. Take Smart Risks.- Just because there is a risk that you may not WIN doesn't mean that you won't. Women have a gut instinct that is second to none. Our other senses run on overdrive which is why we get that gut feeling. Go with it. It's ok to be nervous but nothing was ever gained by doing nothing beside, you guessed it "NOTHING"

Both of my kids know what mentoring means and have both been mentors in a few different situations. I don't think I knew what a mentor was when I was a kid.

I agree 100% that mentoring is super important.

Thanks for the tips, #5 has been my hardest challenge working from home. I found a great site flylady if you have used it you know how helpful it can be if not, you should check into it. I am not in any way related to it, I am sincerely a big fan of it! :work:

I agree that we need to have someone to follow. Duplicate what they did. we can get the result. This I believe is the initial step. Then we can follow our own way. I do follow my "guru" in home business. In real life also I have great men to follow.

****This is a great idea. Right now I am using Net Zero's Private Phone which is a free answering service. You can even call back the person you called for 2 minutes. http://www.privatephone.com

I check for calls every few minutes. *****

****Really like this one. So many times I have wanted to give up, but I just kept trying and have found some really good home businesses/programs.
