Excuse me if this is a double post to someone's somewhere. :o)

My 14 year old daughter and I dream up little girls dresses and make them. I thought it would be a GREAT dream to be able to do this in larger scale through a womens small business grant.
Then I could get more sewing machines and hire local stay at home moms to do assembly line type work (one sewing skirt, one bodice) in their homes locally.
Have you heard of many succeeding in getting this type of grant and what do you think of my idea with the local stay at home moms?
Thanks!

Hi Lori,

The idea is terrific! I wish I knew of an example of someone who had successfully taken their sewing projects to that level. I don't know anybody personally. I love the idea of hiring other Moms.

Have you already researched how to apply for the grant? I'd be really interested in how it works out for you Lori.

I would check out http://www.femailcreations.com/ as one avenue for marketing your product too. I have recently been hearing a lot of positive things about them and it sounds like they have a strong following of supporters who enjoy buying from small businesses owned by women.

I took my handbag to church today and another lady asked where I got it.
I told her I am making them and selling them. She said I should have a purse party like the cosmetics parties. The hostess could get like 20% off the bag of her choice for her reward for having the party.
Thinking strongly about this. :o)
I did sell a bag on ebay but marked it down $10 below what I know the cheapest one will sell for.
oh well....it was a rewarding experience to have a complete stranger buy it.

I now need to look into apparel labels being made and business cards.
