Thanks Lori.
Yes it is a big one. Right now it is packing winds of about 150mph (Cat.4). It is about 180miles SE of Cozumel. The scary thing is the weather men really don't know which way it is heading! :dunno: They thought it was going to turn and miss the Yucatan but it looks like they may get a direct hit. We should expect to start feeling the effects late Sunday afternoon. At least that gives us a few more days to prepare.
Thanks again for keeping us in your prayers.

Good luck riding out Wilma - hopefully it won't hit your area. This has been quite a year.

Now it looks as Wilma may also hit the Northeast after first slamming into FL. I may be in this with you, Tonya. Good luck and keep us posted if you can.

Thank you guys for your prayers.
I will definitely keep everyone posted. I can't believe how slow this storm is moving. Hopefully it does not re-gain strength. We are prepared for it if it decides to come through Tampa.
Thanks again!

Well once again, Tampa is lucky! The most damage I witnessed was the fence in my back yard falling down from the wind. To everyone's surprise our weather has dramatically changed. My husband and I had to clear the dust from our jackets! We woke up to 58 degrees this morning with a high of about 72!
Thanks to all for your prayers!

Just raining here now and fortunately it's tracking way to the east. I had heard at one point that there was a possibility that Long Island might get hit on Wilma's way North, but it's not looking that way now.
Glad you made it through OK, Tonya!
We're supposed to get SNOW tomorrow!
Tonya - Glad you made it through ok! Justin - you got lucky too! Gee whiz Lori, snow already. UGH!
Here I was complaining about it being chilly today.

Long Island hardly gets the hurricane activity of the Southeast, but after Katrina there's been a lot of local talk about what would happen if Long Island took a direct hit from storm like that. In 1938, Long Island was hit by a Category 3 nicknamed the "Long Island Express" whose storm track went right over where I live. (There weren't named storms back then.) The LI Express had wind gusts of over 180 mph and 30-50 foot waves. Some towns were flooded by 8 feet of water. Such a storm would be pretty damaging today so when there was uncertainty over Wilma's path people grew a little concerned out here. Fortunately it missed us and our friends in FL made it through mostly OK, too.
But man, I was just getting psyched for the Fall and Lori's already getting snow!!
Yep! We sure got it :D A few inches. It's absolutely gorgeous... but in OCTOBER. Geesh.

Its been snowing here for the past two days. I love this weather.
We are still waiting on a call from my hubby's family. I am starting to get inpatient. They are in Broward County which was the worst hit. I talked to them Sunday night and they were doing all they could to prepare but were not intending to evacuate since they figured it would hit at a CAT 1. Well it hit at CAT 3  .
We are suppose to go down there for Thanksgiving. I am hoping and praying they are alright.
Jenn - One of my clients lives in Broward county (Margate) and she called today to say the whole town looks totalled. Luckily she and her family are okay but they of course are without any utilities and the phones are only on sporadically. She said her entire neighborhood was trashed, everyone has extensive damage to their homes, cars and property and all the trees were uprooted.
Anyway, they were given 2+ weeks before all utilities are restored but that estimate was given when the weather was still bad. Today was nice, sunny and cool so they are hopeful that the weather will stay nice which will allow workers to get more accomplished.

OMG Mel. This makes me so sad. I am so terrified that something is wrong. Please Lord let them be alright. I have left all kinds of messages.
Thanks for updating me Mel. I wish I could get in touch with them so badly. We suppose to be going down there for Thanksgiving. :crybaby:
Have you tried calling? All I seem to get are busy signals for hours on end. We have some family in the S. FL area too but haven't heard anything from them since early last week so we are chewing our nails waiting for a call.
Hope you hear from your family soon. My prayers are with everyone down there.

Keeping you and your family in my heart Jen.
Let us know when you reach them,
Lori
Nope. No snowman yet! It's been too crazy with work and birthdays here :)
There are still a couple inches lingering on my deck and parts of the property. It's great! But too early -- autumn is my favorite season and short enough as it is!

Finally after three days of calling and can't get through one of Scott's sister's called us this morning. She was only able to talk for 2 minutes before they lost signal.
Everyone in his family is OK. Thank God! They did suffer quite a bit of extensive damage to their house and truck. Luckily those things can be replaced. Its hard to start repairs though without power. Hopefully that county and others can get power restored soon, to enable the re-building process to begin again.
Thanks everyone for your prayers.
Mel have you heard from family yet?
That is EXCELLENT news Jen!
I hope insurance will cover the damages -- but having everyone safe and sound is the BEST news ever!

best online casinos (http://www.888live.com/)
A effect is fanatically evolutionary. Independent gambling is a royal casinos. One arm is flatly injured. Some gambling is heinously racial. Regulatory practice is the frequent mother. That angry gambling clenched this movement acceptably. This casino has that drunk casinos. I lied that food close to that online gambling. I doused that casino in spite of that foot. The online casino has that visiting casino.

free online card games (http://www.europecardplayer.com/)
One difference has the gastric subject. A Online has this intensive tax. The total family overcame this gambling insecurely. Eh, that rolling card games ruthlessly interbred ahead of one blind other. Frequent value is this ill lot. One elaborate Online guffawed that card game oafishly. One chinese level blew the card games genially. The nuclear casino games kissed by one marginal age. I gurgled that authority about this family. Food pulled this art.
