I'm new here and I saw this topic. I have 6 year old son that I love and think is one of the coolest people I know. I could gone on forever talking about him, so you may see me here alot!
Anyway, he just finished kindergarden and his teacher told him to read over the summer, so I have been trying to get him to read something everyday. The other day I say Jacob, go get a book to read. Well he comes back with a book below his level, with only one word per page. I tell him to go get another book that will be a little more challenging and I tell him it is when we are challenged that we learn. So he tells me, "Mom, I want to learn, I just don't want to be challenged"! There was nothing I could do but laugh. Needless to say I made him get a different book to read.

I'd love to hear your funny stories, I know you have them.

That's cute. For me, some of the cute things that happen now are the girls thinking words to a song are different than what they really are. It's so funny what they come up with, what they think they heard...one song says "you and me endlessly". I heard my daughter say "you and me and Leslie" I smile when those moments happen.

On the topic of what Audrey said...my niece sang to Carrie Underwood's song "Before He Cheats"...

Real words:
carved my name into his leather seats

My niece sang:
carved my name into his limousine

LOL

That's cute. Heaven knows I've messed up on song lyrics thinking I heard one thing when something completely different was sung.

yes...its really cute and i think moments like these take away the stress that we experience everyday...its just because of these kids that we shift our focus to them for sometime apart from usual things like money, jobs, savings etc..

that's so cute. Is incredible how children can make us laugh even if we're having a bad time.
