 I have a cable modem and one desktop computer right now. I have vonage phone service, no landline in the house anymore. I want to set up a home office workspace on the opposite side of my house, which is at least 45 -50 feet away from my current computer. I need a fax machine and broadband access. I have a second computer from my company for work, a laptop. It is wireless capable. I bring my computer with me when I have to go to work at the corporate office. The house is not currently set up as a wireless network.
Phone company dsl for the laptop, the fax machine in my new home office space?? Can the cable company put another line on the opposite side of the house for Internet? But then what about phone line for my fax machine? What is the best way to set this up?

Did you call your local phone company to see what they can do?

Yes, you need both:

(1) you need another cable line for your internet connection in that back bedroom which is going to be your office.

(2) you also need a phone line back there too for your fax machine.
