Hi Lori,
I was just wondering if you could please help me? I live in Esperance Western Australia and i would like to do a job on the computor.
I have come across 2 that sound alright but i was wondering if you could tell me if they are for real or scams?

1. HOMEworkMadeEZ.com- http://www.homeworkmadeez.com/index.html

2.$300-$700 per day- http://www.netpaychex.com/main.html

I hope you find them to be alright as we need some extra money as we are broke all the time.
Thanks

Hi Sue,

I'll give my two cents worth and let Lori answer this too.

Two things make me think these are scams.

1. They ask you to pay a fee up front. - You should never have to pay to get a job. Most legitimate companies won't ask you for money to work for them.

2. They are telling you that you can make all this money that doesn't seem possible... because it probably isn't. If people could *really* make that kind of money, we'd all be doing it.

Personal experience... My brother had an auto accident when he was younger. He couldn't walk for well over a year and was having to have multiple surgeries to repair his body. So he got in to envelope stuffing as a way to help pay for bills while he was living back at home with my mom.

Now, he did get paid but it wasn't anything like they said. They guaranteed him a minimum of $200 a week but he was lucky to make that a month. What they would do is not send any work for several weeks but then send a ton of work at the last minute, give him an impossible deadline and if he didn't get it all done on time, he didn't get paid for any of the work. What finally happened is he had to hire someone to help him when the work did come so after he paid his helper, he made about $125 a month. He did it for about 3-4 months hoping he could find a trick to getting faster and making more money but it didn't happen so he quit.

Maybe they aren't all like that but that was our experience.

Here are some places to look for jobs...
http://www.creativeworkathome.com/telecommute.htm
http://www.mommysplace.net/index.html
http://forum.wahm.com/forum/

and if you want to pay for access to a database of legitimate companies, this is one of the only places I know of that is legit.. http://www.teleworkrecruiting.com/

I don't know if any of them would have positions for people outside the US & Canada but you can look at each place and see.

Good luck!

Thanks Mel for your quick reply, I thought that they were maybe scams especially whe i sent them an e-mail and nothing came back. I was just hoping they weren't, i don't have any qualifications for office work or anything so I'm sort of grasping at straws to find something as i'm sick of always being broke.
Anyway i will have a look at those sites that you gave me and see if Lori has any suggestions.
Thanks again Mel

Hi Sue,

I'm in agreement with Mel on these. I have no personal experience with them, but there is a reason for that.

I agree that being asked for money to work is questionable. Now, that isn't to say that you shouldn't expect to spend money on your business. There are instances that a fee is required and that fee really pays off. Examples might be Tupperware or Avon biz ops and the like. Another example would be a service site like elance (http://www.elance.com/c/splash/main/publish.pl?rid=AAGT&f=sellerfunnel1).

The second reason is that I'm always wary of any company that promises a certain amount per month. It doesn't mean that the claims aren't possible -- but most bizop owners understand that the amount someone makes depends on their individual capacity. No company is prepared to pay everyone that walks in the door a certain amount of money. That person has to be really good at what they do and benefit the bizop upline tremendously with their hard work.

I confess I didn't read the two pages thoroughly because right away those warning flags went up for me.

You're doing the right thing in getting other people's input before jumping into this. I'm really sad to see a lot of women give up their hope to work from home because they get suckered into some bogus opportunities.

Sue, what are your skills? I would be happy to make recommendations to you.

Warm Regards, and thanks very much for joining the forums.
