Yes, it is possible to start a home business without any outlay of cash. It just depends on what you want to do. I have three at home businesses: I teach piano, get paid to blog, and create custom images for blogs and websites. None of those cost me anything to start.

There are numerous paid blogging opportunities out there, and you can start a blog for free at blogger.com or at wordpress.com. You can always run a Google search for free blog to find more platform choices. I work for several different paid blogging companies, and post requirements and payment amounts vary. So far, I average $5 per paid post. That doesn't sound like much, but it can quickly add up.

You can also learn a marketable skill like I did when I learned how to create blog headers. I started my business site/blog for free on Wordpress.com, although I later opted to move it to a hosted domain. I started out by offering free header to gain experience, build a portfolio, and spread the word. During that time, I used free images from Stock Xchange (http://sxc.hu/). The software I intially used came with our computer so I didn't even have to spend any money on that.

So, you see, it is possible to start a business without adding to your current expenses. I hope that helps.
